BrainstemMD

The BrainstemMD smartwatch application is a screening tool designed for the early detection of brainstem related disorders. Damage to the brainstem can be detected by changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or heart rate variability (HRV), data of which is fetched from Health App via HealthKit. Data provided from Health App will be shown in BrainstemMD in the form of graphical representation.

The BrainstemMD app can potentially be used to screen for repetitive sub-concussive brain injuries or aid in the determination of brain injury status following a single concussive event. The app also has the potential to screen for early signs of cardiovascular disease including hypertension, neurodegenerative disease, stroke, and viral infection including Covid-19.
